Veteran-owned · people-first technology partner

Stop running your business on spreadsheets and software that doesn't fit. Own the system instead.

We sit down with you first and learn how the work really flows — where it breaks, what it costs you. Then we build what fits: at a fixed price, in your own accounts, so it's yours from day one. No retainers, no lock-in, no one holding your keys.

People and process first, then the technology. · Fixed price · You keep the keys · Based in the NC Sandhills — I show up in person.

The difference
Most shops build what you ask for. We help you figure out the right thing — then build it.

Agencies sell retainers. Contractors sell hours. Software companies sell a subscription that makes you work their way. You get a person who has built and run technology where it couldn't fail — sitting across the table from you, applying that judgment to a business your size.

Every engagement starts with how your business actually runs — your people, your process, the spreadsheet that holds it together — before any technology is on the table. Sometimes the honest answer is a $30-a-month tool, or nothing at all. When a build is the answer, it's one fixed price you approve before anything is built, and you own everything at the end.

We sell you a system you own — and if you want us to keep running it, that's optional, priced, and month-to-month. Cancel anytime; you lose nothing, because the keys are already yours.

Ownership isn't just the code. It's cancelling the subscriptions you were renting — and never again waiting on someone else to change your own website.

Start here

Ready to grow, but don't know where to start?

The Baseline Assessment — $750 flat. That's the point of it.

One flat price: I look at how your business actually runs — the tools you pay for, the spreadsheets holding it together, who really owns your website and data — and hand you a written, scored report: what's leaking time and money, what it costs you per year, and a prioritized roadmap with honest options, including “do nothing” and “buy a $30/month tool” when that's the right answer.

We go through it together, across the table. Every dollar credits toward any build you start within 60 days — so if the report leads to a project, the assessment was free. If it doesn't, you own a plan any developer could carry out.

What we build

One workflow, or the whole operation.

Most owners start with the $750 assessment above. From there, the build matches the problem. Every price is fixed and agreed before anything is built — and the system is built in your accounts, so it's yours the day it goes live.

A module

Ready to move off rented software to a system built around how you actually work?

One painful workflow replaced and owned: the order pipeline that lives in a spreadsheet, the member site a vendor holds the keys to, the booking and quoting that leaks jobs. Built in your accounts, handed over with a runbook. This is most of what we do.

$5,000–$20,000 · fixed price · typically 3–8 weeks
A full platform

The whole operation in one system you own

Web and mobile together, built in phases you can afford — one workflow first, the rest as the business earns it. The same working platform an agency charges $100k–$200k for, at roughly a third.

$50,000–$100,000 · phased · fixed price per phase
Ongoing Care

A person you can call

Optional after handover — we monitor it, keep it patched and backed up, and make the small changes, with a monthly note on how it's running. Cancel anytime and you lose nothing, because you own the code, the accounts, and the data either way. That's what makes it safe to say yes — or no.

$700–$1,400/mo · month-to-month

Gritty Soldier — from six disconnected races to one member record

Read it
Challenge
Running virtual challenges on a platform built for road races. Excel exports instead of operations; no reliable way to tell finishers from sign-ups; the owner personally reviewing every proof photo; coins going to wrong addresses. And a back catalogue of events where every race was an island — no member had a record across them.
Approach
Treat it as an identity problem before a software problem. The customer's history was worth more than any feature: reattaching it is what turns a series of one-off races into a reason to come back. The old export had one row per registration, not per person, and some members shared an email — a father and son, a husband and wife — so keying on email would have merged two people into one record for good. We keyed on a stable ID instead.
Build
A member platform on Cloudflare and Supabase — entry and payment, proof submission, an AI referee, a lifetime leaderboard, digital badges and coin fulfilment. Past finishers imported as claimable records that reattach to a member the next time they enter, verified by an admin and reversible if wrong. Results set server-side, so a finish cannot be faked. Addresses verified at signup so coins reach the right person.
Outcome
528 people with lifetime records, 592 recorded finishes, 592 coins issued. Proof review moved from “every photo, by hand” to exception-only. Delivered, handed over, and the client owns the repo, the accounts and the data.

SOCA — from rented tools to an owned platform

Read it
Challenge
A dated WordPress site — the look felt stuck in the 1980s and did little to invite members in. They paid monthly for GoDaddy, Mailchimp, and other point services with no member sign-in and no ownership of their store. Admins had no consolidated way to see open store purchases or delivery status, and event pages were perpetually out of date.
Approach
A modern, inviting redesign on owned infrastructure — eliminate the recurring fees and give admins one place to run the store, events, and members outright.
Build
Full platform on Cloudflare: a refreshed public site, built-in store, donations, quarterly raffle, member OAuth, self-service event pages, and an admin dashboard with a single view of open orders and delivery status — plus an integrated database and built-in email (Resend).
Outcome
Cancelled the stack of monthly subscriptions — hosting now effectively $0/month. One owned system to run the whole organization, with a single admin view of everything.

Medalio — an order pipeline that scales

Read it
Challenge
A custom challenge-coin maker running their entire production pipeline in Excel — bespoke orders, proofs, and production tracked by hand as volume grew.
Approach
Model the real order lifecycle; server-set pricing; an admin that mirrors how the shop actually works.
Build
A full order + variant + proofing pipeline with a storefront, back-office console, and a kanban-style production board that mirrors how the shop actually works.
Outcome
Production moved from Excel to a visual pipeline — bespoke orders flow through without the spreadsheet chaos, owned end-to-end.

Sentinel Force — a home for a sci-fi saga

Read it
Challenge
An independent science-fiction author needed a home for a four-book series — trailer, buy links, and a way to turn readers into a community — without a web team to keep it running.
Approach
A fast public site the author edits himself behind a private admin. Every store, trailer and social link can be hidden, “coming soon” or live as each book releases.
Build
A series site with a book carousel, trailer and free Kindle sample; a reader mailing list with confirm-by-email and author updates; “Join the Sentinels”, where readers volunteer a character for a future book with a recorded permission; and an admin to manage books and characters, triage reader messages, and write back from the author's own address.
Outcome
Live at sentinelforce.net. The author runs the site, his reader list and his reader mail himself, end to end.

Where automation earned its keep

The retyping, the checking, the chasing — handled.

We don't sell automation for its own sake. Where a step in your process is a person retyping, checking, or chasing, we take it off their desk — and then measure it to show it worked. Two real examples below.

client · live · handed over Gritty Soldier Challenge · AI referee Gritty Soldier Challenge — the live member platform at challenges.grittysoldier.com

An AI referee that verifies every submission

Members of this virtual-challenge platform submit a photo as proof they finished a workout. Instead of the owner reviewing every one by hand, an AI referee reads each submission and returns pass or needs review.

The first version graded on submit and took up to 48 seconds — unusable on a trailhead with one bar of signal. So submissions became a queue: graded in the background at a controlled rate, with anything the model won't commit to going to a human. Tested at 300 accounts including 100 deliberately fraudulent submissions — none were credited.

The model judges what's in the photo. It can't know whether the standard was met, so the member also affirms that on every submission. AI for the part a machine can judge; a person's word for the part it can't.

our product · in rebuild Devo · built by DNC Devo — a daily Bible study app built by DNC

A daily study path, planned by AI and checked against the text

Devo is a daily Bible study app we build and run as our own product. You say what you want to work on; AI plans a path through Scripture for you, one step a day.

Every passage it uses is pulled from the actual Bible text and cited, and every reference is checked before it reaches you. The AI plans; it is not allowed to make up Scripture.

Rebuilt from the ground up in 2026. Running on our own devices now, not in the app stores yet — shown for how the AI is kept honest.

your goal→ AI plans the path→ verses retrieved & cited→ today's step
Illustrative, not case studies — for a small business this usually starts as: a dashboard that shows which products actually make money · an AI assistant that drafts replies from your own data · automated data entry and categorization.
Why DNC

Enterprise judgment, at small-business scale.

Built it where it couldn't fail

13+ years building and running technology in large, mission-critical environments. That is the judgment behind every recommendation — including the ones where the answer is “don't build it.”

Security & compliance from Day 1

A security-first delivery posture baked into every build — not a bolt-on audit at the end.

You work with me directly

No agencies, no junior contractors, no account managers. The person who scopes it is the person who builds it.

Fixed price, real ownership

One number, agreed before we start. Built in your accounts from the first day, so there is nothing to hand over — you already own the code, the accounts, and the data.

You see everything as it's built

A live preview link from the first week — feedback at every stage, not a big reveal at the end. Course corrections happen early, when they're cheap.

Who's behind the work

About Lance

DNC Tech raven
Lance
Founder · DNC Tech Solutions
CISSP CASP+ Security+ 13+ yrs in IT DevOps · Cloud · K8s U.S. Army veteran

I've spent 13 years building and leading enterprise technology in places where it couldn't fail: mission-critical networks, cloud platforms, and the teams that run them. My work is DevOps, cloud, Kubernetes, and cloud-native architecture, from platform engineering to modernization to the systems people depend on at scale.

DNC Tech started with a text from a soldier who'd worked for me. His small manufacturing business ran on a spreadsheet, and the spreadsheet broke. I could see what it was trying to become, so I built him a website over a weekend and gave him the code. He insisted on paying. That was the first client.

I started the company because growing businesses and mission-driven organizations need real technical judgment, not an agency selling retainers or a contractor selling hours. They need someone who has built it before, understands the trade-offs, and delivers a clean solution they actually own.

Owning it is the point. Every build ships with the code in your hands, your staff trained to run it, and documentation good enough that you don't need me on the phone. I measure success by whether it outlasts my involvement. A nonprofit I moved off WordPress runs its own platform today; a fitness company I built for serves five hundred athletes without a single call to me last month. That's the model: enterprise rigor, owner-operated, at a scale that fits you.

How to work with us

From coffee to keys.

Six steps, no mystery. Open communication the whole way, and it's all yours at the end. After go-live, a 30-day stabilisation window — extended through your first live event if that comes later — where anything not doing what we agreed is fixed free.

From coffee to keys — how working with DNC works. Six steps: (1) Meet — a real conversation, your business, your words, no pitch. (2) Shared understanding — we agree on the problem before anyone talks solutions. (3) Assessment, $750 — a written, scored diagnosis with a roadmap, credited fully toward any build within 60 days. (4) SOW plus fixed price — one number, scope at ceiling, signed before a line of code. (5) Build in the open — live preview from week one, feedback every week, no big reveal. (6) Delivery and handover — final payment on delivery, then the handover: domain, passwords, API keys, code, and the runbook. You own it all. Open communication throughout, ownership at the end, a 30-day stabilisation window (longer if your first live event falls later), and optional Ongoing Care at $700–$1,400 per month, month-to-month.
